DEADLINE!
The alarm in my phone alerts, reminding me that I only have a few more hours before the submission of the final version of a project. I got panic attack. My heart beats faster, my brain stops working and is about to explode, stressed covered my emotion and left me to break down in parts.
“I am very busy. There is not enough time to do this and to do that.”
Well, that’s what I always say.
In fact, I am busy making time for my family life, hanging out with friends, finishing my assignments as well as just a simple me time. Especially, due to the fact that I am currently studying abroad. More time is taken to do more household activities, such as cleaning up the rooms, buying groceries, laundering clothes, and many more.
The thought of going to complete a task always strikes my mind, but instead of taking this opportunity, I’ll always conclude with few or nothing at all and will be scrolling through social media aimlessly. I tend to forget the time and turns out to be procrastinating for hours. This has made me suffered badly. The numerous sleepless nights as well as visiting the hospitals several days before the final weeks felt so terrible yet familiar to me.
For all that, It is the time for me to break these bad habits and free myself from unwanted stress! This is one of my 2020 resolutions. Here are some ideas I will be doing to be more organized in getting my tasks accomplished effectively.

Make A To-Do List
This year I have started to list all “to-do” tasks to help me more organize and got me on track of what has happened and will be happening in the future. Also, it helps you to planning the schedule to be motivated and prioritize the toughest or most time-sensitive activities to be done first. Avoid multitasking and concentrate on one thing. This technique helps me to save time and minimizes the risk of stressful future.
Overcome Procrastination
Procrastination has been the major factor that later builds a huge burden and stress for me. This really affects badly to me. However, I am trying my best to discipline myself and overcome it at all costs. I will start as soon as I get the tasks. When accomplishing tasks, I bear myself from looking at the phone and scrolling through social media, in order to be more focused. I will be more productive and spends less time rolling over in my bed.
Avoid Bad Distraction & Take Breaks
I get distracted easily. As mention previously, I tend to roll over in my bed, playing my phones, scrolling through social media, and watching Korean dramas. Without realizing, this takes up too much of my time. To avoid these distractions, I will put away my phones and turn off notifications, except for calls.
However, no matter how hard you try to be focus in doing your tasks, you are going to get distracted. No one can work for hours without break. So I will take my time in doing tasks and make sure to take a 10 to 15 minutes break. This helps to stay productive.
It is indeed hard to apply all these steps right away. Take time and learn to be discipline and organize. I am practicing every day and determine to be a better person. I really hope I can fulfill one of my 2020 resolutions.
