During the term break, I and my classmates were given the opportunities to take part in the Singapore Fashion Revolution Week.

Fashion Revolution is a non-profit global movement that was reformed to focus on the need for the clean and transparent fashion industry. Their main aim is to show the positive changes and encourage people to innovate a more ethical and sustainable future for the industry. Fashion Revolution was founded in 2013 with a campaign to commemorate those lives lost in the Rana Plaza disaster as Fashion Revolutionary Week on 24th April 2013. Fashion Revolution Week takes place annually on 24th April with over 100 countries participating. The famous hashtag #WhoMadeMyClothes became the number one trend on Twitter in 2015 that drags to huge success and recognition.

This year, Fashion Revolution Week takes place for 2 days (24-25th April) in the Straits Clan. However, a sudden pandemic, COVID-19 that started in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, attacked the whole earth and has given numerous impacts. Fashion Revolution Week was thankfully still continuing and moved to online-based as a Facebook event.

For this event, we contributed to designing social media marketing collateral for Fashion Revolution Week, such as posters, banners, and many more. The class was given the chance to create the main poster with each respective style. Gratefully, the poster that I made was chosen by the Fashion Revolution team as their main poster displayed on Instagram. I was chosen as the Creative Director to lead the whole team to create a harmonious design.

To make everything to be done faster, the class was divided into three teams and Ion was partnered with Sharon Natasha. We were given the task to complete visual designs for three different panel discussion events that will be displayed on their Facebook page and Peatix homepage banner.

Along the journey of this project, I have learned several things. 1) communication became a crucial thing while working with the team to avoid misunderstanding and to give the best result to the client. 2) to lead a great team, I need to give others the chance to create and discuss parts that can be improved. 3) I also learned to work flexibly and also at high pressure. This opportunity also sharpens my photoshop skills and also to improve as a better future content strategist. I am very honored and thankful to be a part of Fashion Revolution Week.
