Last week, I had the opportunity to listen to a podcast by BOF. The podcast feature Fabien Baron, a famous art director, shared his thoughts about the future of communication.

The current situation has unlocked a lot of things, including conversation, creativity, and many more. It has highlighted an opportunity to reshape the fashion industry, leading to evolution and set a new path. According to Baron, the key to unlocking these changes is creativity. As the world is adjusting to a new set of challenges, and so must the industries. A new way of approaching magazines, photography, styling, and buying and selling goods will emerge from this health crisis, where storytelling must override superficiality, Baron said. Brands and media need to cultivate a distinctive and original voice that represents experience and encourages audiences with fresh thoughts and ways of looking at things. They need a lot of freshness and positiveness.

According to him, the current chaos and uncertain situation brought by the pandemic has introduced a new opportunity to go ‘back to basics’ for the fashion industry. Going back to basic or simplicity may be the solution to the relentless speed at which the company has been running. Baron believed that this new and simple way of communicating is going to change and developed. It will open new doors and allow the industries and audiences to do and view things in a different angle.

This podcast has brought insights for my future career as a content strategist. From what I noted, the future of communication will be much simple. The talk emphasizes the need to touch the emotional point to attract and reach consumers or audiences. Cultivating a distinctive and authentic voice will represent a fresh way of brands and industries in communicating. Baron also claimed that the world is rotating, and so does the creative industry. There will be a point where these fresh ideas and approaches will develop and open many new opportunities.
